2023 Callen Cup

The “Crown Jewel” of adult tennis recently took place, as the Callen Cup (formerly known as Senior Cup), took place in Huntsville, AL.  Callen Cup is an event where each of the nine Southern states select the “best of the best” in 5 different decades of play from 35’s to 75’s.  Each team typically carries up to 5 players on the roster, where they compete in doubles and singles play over the weekend.  Some of the best former collegiate (and sometimes pro) players from the South represent their states in the event, so it’s definitely an honor to be chosen to represent the state.  Mississippi didn’t come away with any titles in 2023, but were competitive in several age divisions against some of the best the South has to offer, including a runner-up finish in the Men’s 35s division!
