Meridian Holiday Adaptive Tennis Clinic

Mississippi’s first registered adaptive tennis program got into the Christmas spirit recently.  On December 9th, the Northeast Tennis Center in Meridian put on its free tennis clinic for physically and cognitively disabled youth in the community.  Participants were treated to fun activities on the courts, food, and appearances by Miss Mississippi, Vivian O’Neil, and Santa Claus!

Toni Jackson and Pete Mazzella of the Meridian Community Tennis Association put on a series of adaptive clinics throughout the year.  “When we came – started doing this, I thought I was doing them a service, but it's more – they help me.  It’s like they’re doing me a service.  Every time we get done, I feel-I cry every time we get done.” said Mazzella.
