Rockie Netherland introduced as new South West Local League Coordinator

USTA Mississippi introduces Rockie Netherland as the new South West Local League Coordinator!

Rockie has been a USTA member and league player, both in Florida and her native Mississippi. She has served as a team member or captain since 2005. She currently lives in Brookhaven, MS, with her husband Don.

Netherland is active in the Brookhaven tennis community, serving in various capacities in the Brookhaven Community Tennis Association. She is involved in her larger community, too, as a member of the Servitium Club; a board member of the Brookhaven Animal Rescue League (BARL); and the Chamber of Commerce.

She can trace her love of the game to a memorable college experience. She vividly recalls having the opportunity to see the legendary Jimmy Connors play in an exhibition match in New Orleans. That exposure to professional tennis created an appreciation for helping others enjoy the sport and to invest the hours of practice necessary to improve her own individual level of play.

Rockie doesn’t run marathons, practice mindful yoga, do water aerobics, or paint: her heart belongs solely to tennis!
